Review: Grae has just been thrown into the adventure of a lifetime. Her father has been just been thrown in jail for fraud. Her mother, her, and her brother Perry are forced to start over with a clean slate. They used to be rich and have want for nothing. They have to learn how to be poor. So they move to a mansion that their Grandfather keeps up. This mansion is said to be haunted by ghosts, and have lots of secrets. The history of Graham Mansion isn't a very happy one, and there was a lot of tragedy in it. The tragedy has left it's mark on the house over time. Grae soon beings to discover secrets about it, and herself as well.

I liked the story overall. It was pretty fast paced, and moved fairly quickly. I liked the description that she used, I was told enough that I felt like I could picture her surroundings.  The characters were likable and had very good relationships with each other. I laughed at Grae and Perry's relationship, they had the typical older sister/younger annoying brother relationship. It was really cute. This mansion is a real place, and some of the things in the book are true. Other things are purely speculative  I love the mix of contemporary and historical fiction that time traveling causes.

Character Breakdown:
Grae- She is a senior just trying to make it through her last year of school. She is very smart, and makes good grades in school. She is very headstrong and opinionated. She is very mature for her age. She makes an interesting lead character because she does not have that wounded bird syndrome that most girls in a lot of YA books tend to have. She doesn't rely on anyone to build her self image, or build her back up. She relies on her strengths as a person to pick herself up and keep on going. She does what needs to be done. She is a very good role model for teen girls.

Perry- He is a typical annoying younger brother. He is pretty funny. The thing about Perry is he doesn't see the whole truth about his mother and fathers relationship. It is something that he is wearing rose colored glasses about.

Mom- She is resilient. She has fallen flat on her butt, but she is working to create a better future for her children. She is working really hard to rebuild what they have lost.

Grandpa- He helps out everyone a lot by giving them a place to live. Plus he is giving them advice to keep them on the right track.

Gav- He is the jock, and a good student. He is also a good looking guy. He has his eyes set on Grae, and is very persistent about her.

Carrie- She is Grae one and only friend at her new school. Grae is Carrie's first friend that wasn't friends with her just to date her brother. Gav is Carrie's brother.

Honestly, it was an awesome story, and I can't wait until the next one. I suggest this to anyone who like contemporary fiction with a historical twist to it.

FTC: This book was given to me by the author for an honest review.
