Book Tour: Revelation by Amber Shelly-Character Interview

My crazy and heated interview with Deklan and Slaine of Pedalstem who appear in AmBear Shellea’s new novel, Revelation, the second installment in the Pedalstem Lillie Series. Let’s get started!

  1.      Slaine, Deklan, tell us a brief bit about yourself.
“I am King Slaine Deverox of Pedalstem and this…” he points to his right “…Is my brother, Master Deklan.”
“Yes, he’s the pretty one and I am the smart one.” Deklan says poking fun at his brother.

  2.      You two are brothers who seem to get along well, was it always that way, even when you where younger?
Deklan raises his hand to motion he will answer the question “Yes, we have always gotten along well, I, as the older brother, have always taken care of him.”
“What? Yes, you have looked after me, but it’s not as if I was helpless or something. I did tend to take care of myself as we got older.” Slaine added.
“If you say so, brother!  Next question Cara.”

  3.      Have you lived in Pedalstem your whole life?
“I have this one.” Slaine announces quickly. “Yes, we have lived here all our life. Our parents were born and raised, as were we.”

  4.      Where did you reside here in town?
Deklan motioned to Slaine, “You want this one too, Oh Mighty King?”
“Thank you, I will. You can answer the next one.” Smiling and turning back to me, “We grew up at the Inn Dever, the inn our parents owned. One in which we took over after their untimely deaths.”

  5.      What was it like taking over the family business?
An evil grin slid across Deklan’s face as he answered “Let’s just say the Inn Dever, ran more the way we wanted after their…deaths.”

  6.      I assume running an Inn, you meet lots of people as they travel to and from one place to another, has any one person stood out?
“Mrs. Fertto.” They said together, giving each other a sly look.

  7.      What was it about her, that struck your Fancy, was it simply she was beautiful?
“Slaine, I’ll answer this one, as you tend to let slip things that should be kept quiet.” Turning his gaze back to me, “That answer will have to be answered by perusing the pages of Revelation. We shall give no spoilers!”
“Fair enough, moving on.” I said.

  8.      What can we find the two of you doing during any other day in Pedalstem?
I have many duties...” Slaine began.
Yea, like chasing that harlot around.” Deklan chimed in.
Slaine glared at his brother, “She is not a harlot!” His attention turned back to me. “As King, I have many duties to oversee! His eyes and attitude slid back to his brother. “This is why she doesn’t like you.”
“Well, brother, the feeling is mutual! And she knows that too.”
“Shall we move on?” I asked quickly.
They both turned their strange eyes my way, evils grins and all. Deklan answered in almost a whispered toneBy all means, please continue.”

  9.      Are you trying to say that Blaze, the Queen of Pedalstem is a Harlot?
“No!”
“Yes!”
“Deklan she is not a Harlot!”
“Grow up Slaine, she spends all her days chasing around that stable hand, who by the way, should not even still be a problem.”
“Deklan…”

  10.  Hold up, are you two saying that Queen Blaze has a thing for the Stable hand Demarko?
“Yes!”
“No!”
“I have had enough Deklan! Cara I’m sorry but I cannot listen to anymore of this! Goodbye!”
He storms out, Deklan hot on his heels offering no goodbye.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, I guess we will just have to get our hands on Revelation and find out who is right, and what the hell is going on! Wow, these two were…Interesting to interact with. Have a great day folks, looks like that is all we have today. Until next time…

Chaos Unleashed Synopsis:
This isn’t your mother’s sweet love story and it’s not your sister’s fairytale. Chaos Unleashed is dark, dangerous, and highly addictive. You will share in every experience the hero and heroine have, as their quest for the truth leads them to the hateful dark void that threatens to consume their souls.

Pedalstem is shrouded in darkness, leaving Castle Deverox in a vortex of confusion. Blaze awakens to find men she doesn’t know looming over, intent on capture, a handsome prisoner sharing her fate, and the gut tightening knowledge that her memories have been stolen.

Review: This book had my attention captured from the first page. Right away, it started out with action, and mystery. I wanted to know who Blaze was, and who this strange man with her was as well. I really like Blaze. She stood up for herself, and was very take charge. She wasn't a whimpering and whining heroine, and she didn't wait for others to take care of things for her. Demarko is an all around good guy. The chemistry between them is real. I quickly learned to hate Slaine and his brother. They are pretty much the definition of evil. All I wanted throughout the whole book is for the brothers to get what they deserved.

This is a pretty quick and fast paced read. It is historical fiction meets fantasy. I love both genres so I especially love to see them put together in a book. The one complaint I would have is there were just some random typos and grammatical errors. It wasn't too big of a deal, and they are very prevalent. So they didn't ruin the story. It was still a fun read.

Revelation Synopsis:
Some fairytales begin with once upon a time and end with happily ever after. Revelation, book 2 in The Pedalstem Lillies series, is a not that fairytale. Join Blaze once again, as she struggles through the darkness. Her adventure for the truth is deadly as it’s pieced together with schemes, plots and wicked intentions.  A violent disagreement finds her out and about, with a man whose presence is forbidden, and is forced to seek shelter.  Heat and electricity engulf them as the oncoming storm reveals the secrets. Exhausted and breathless, their plan for revenge awakens with sunrise. The scene is set and the lines are drawn. Purity & Power VS. Menace & Mayhem. Who will be left standing when the magic clears?

Review: This story picks up where the last one left off. I don't want to give away too much for people who haven't read the first one yet. Demarko and Blaze finally get to learn why they are following the lives of people they don't even know. I thought I had an idea why it was going on, I was close; but in the end I was wrong with my guess. The mystery deepens in this story as more is revealed. You get to learn more about Slaine and his brother, and how they made all this happen. Blaze continues to search for her identity, while trying to figure out a way to keep away from Slaine and his brother. My hate for them continues to deepen.

As with the first one, this is also a fast paced read. It is very exciting, and I am glad so many things were revealed in this installment. Then it leaves us off at a cliff hanger, and I was like nnnoooo.....So hopefully we will learn more in I am guessing there will be a third book.

Author Bio:

Although I have always enjoyed writing, the dream to become a writer came when I read A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare, in the sixth grade. My early works, not published, were in the form of children’s stories I would read to my two daughters. I divide my days between the real world and the ones I’ve created. My life and my characters keep me very busy in my Mid-Western scene, where I live with my husband, and my children (both human and furry.
